The Ralph Stubbs slate won their election at Teamsters Local 41 garnering nearly 60 percent of the Local’s votes. This is the third election won by the Stubbs team, an unprecedented effort that ensures the local will continue on the path of growth and unity. “You know consistency in union leadership is important. When you are constantly changing leadership it doesn’t help the Local. I am thrilled that the Local 41 members believe we are going in the right direction and that they have trusted us to continue going forward,” Stubbs stated.

President, Ralph Stubbs

Susan Barthol-Turner, who ran as Vice President is the first woman Vice President ever elected in Teamsters Local 41. “I am honored to be elected, and I really want to thank Ralph and the whole team. We worked hard to get elected. We visited most of the barns and hubs and spoke with members on a daily basis, we felt we were the best choice and the members agreed.”

Stubbs attributed the victory to all of the groundwork his team has laid over the past six years. “Our priorities from the very beginning have never wavered. We wanted

to grow the local and educate the members as to how we plan to make Teamsters Local 41 a local we can all be proud to be members of. We have been transparent throughout the past 6-years and our members saw that. We will continue to grow at UPS and other areas of our industry,” Stubbs added.

Susan Barthold-Turner added, “I will say that our stewards deserve a lot of the credit for our success. They have a thankless job and yet they go out every day working on behalf of our Local. I can’t thank them enough.” Susan also stated that the stewards, who give orientations to new members at UPS, are signing up close to one hundred percent of the new members. “By educating our new members at the very beginning of their employment, it provides them a thorough understanding of what the union does for them and the benefits of joining Teamsters Local 41.”

Stubbs also wanted to share a couple of important news items. The 9.5 grievances have collected over $350,000 for members who had filed grievances as of this date. In addition, UPS and literally the entire Freight industry is hiring. Also the union negotiated strict COVID guidelines for UPS. If you come in contact wit a COVID related issue, the company will pay you for up to 14-days. Other company’s in the freight industry have similar guidelines but are not always set in stone.

“I want to thank all of the members who voted for our slate and I want the entire membership to know that we will work everyday to make this Local a great Local. I hope that everyone has a great holiday and stay safe,” Stubbs concluded.
