Doug Beck with the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 562 was elected president of the Missouri State Building & Construction Trades Council during the July 22, 2020 quarterly meeting. The position was previously held by Senator Gina Walsh.
In a statement, Beck said, The job as President brings new responsibilities for me. I will do my best in this role and will live up to traditions set by our leaders, especially Senator Gina Walsh who is an amazing leader and in a class all her own. I will not let let you down. I appreciate your confidence in me and thank you for the opportunity to serve.
Missouri State Representative Doug Beck was elected in November 2016. Within the House of Representatives, he serves on the following committees: Economic Development, Workforce Development (Ranking Minority Member of both committees), Veterans and has served on Children and Families as well as the Special Committee on Employment Security.
Doug is a 34-year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562 and is very proud to still work in this profession.
Kevin King, Business Manager of Roofers Local 20 was elected secretary-treasurer. Kevin King has been with Local 20 for about 23 years. He has held the position of Business Manager for 11 years. He is currently the Vice President of KC Building Trades & E-Board member on Kansas City AFL- CIO.
King stated, “I appreciate the labor leaders across the state having faith in me to elect me to this position.”Published
