101 The Fox Host, Slacker with BAC Local 15 apprentice, Lindsey Heath.

Every month the Greater Kansas City Building and Trades Council along with 101 The Fox spotlights a union member. This month, Lindsey Heath with BAC Local 15, was recognized as the most recent MVP after being nominated by Don Hunt and Dustin Himes from her Local. Lindsey is nearing completion of her first year as an apprentice and has been hard at work at the new KCI Terminal project. Coincidently, Lindsey’s father worked on the airport project built in the early 1970’s. During the pandemic, Lindsey found it difficult to get hours in the industry she was in. She reached out to friends and networked, looking for a career that would provide more opportunity. Fortunately, she was directed to the Bricklayers local union. Lindsey embraces social media and has used her TikTok videos to promote the construction union trades. When asked for suggestions for people interested in joining a union she chimed in, “If you believe in yourself you can accomplish things. I feel blessed to have this experience and learn something new every day. I am surrounded by so many with an incredible amount of knowledge. I feel very supported, and it is nice to know someone has my back.” Thank you, Lindsey, for your positive attitude and for promoting the trades. Congratulation on this well-deserved MVP recognition.
